Garment Care

Every AjiBèkè piece is crafted with authentic, luxury materials and designed to last when cared for correctly. To preserve the quality, texture, and detail of your garment, we recommend the following care guidelines:

  • Hand Wash Only – Wash gently in cool to lukewarm water (around 30°C) using a mild detergent.
  • Do Not Tumble Dry – Heat and friction can damage natural fibres and embellishments.
  • Air Dry Naturally – Lay flat or hang in a shaded area to maintain shape and prevent fading.
  • Handle with Care – Avoid excessive wringing, rubbing, or machine agitation.
  • Store Thoughtfully – Keep garments in a cool, dry place and, where possible, hang pieces to preserve their silhouette.

Fabric-Specific Notes

While the above applies to all garments, some of our heritage fabrics and finishes may require extra care:

  • Aso-oke (woven & unwoven trims): Avoid sharp jewellery or rough handling to prevent snags.
  • Adire/Batik: Naturally dyed fabrics may release colour in the first few washes; wash separately.
  • Crepe/Chiffon blends: Delicate textures may stretch when wet — handle gently and reshape while drying.
  • Raffia details: Keep dry and store flat to preserve structure.

Because our collections are made with authentic heritage fabrics and artisanal finishes, gentle hand care is essential to ensure your garment retains its beauty and longevity.

With the right care, your AjiBèkè piece will remain a timeless part of your wardrobe and legacy.
